Reykjavik Winterlight Festival

Reykjavík Maritime Museum

Reykjavík Maritime Museum has a permanent exhibition entitled Fish & folk – 150 years of fisheries. Characterised by a vibrant atmosphere, this exhibition is designed to deepen the visitor experience through rich visuals and interactivity. The museum also has temporary exhibitions in the Engine Room (Vélasalur) and the Pier Room (Bryggjusalur), in addition to its floating exhibits: the Coast Guard vessel Óðinn and the tugboat Magni, which are tied up at the Museum Pier.

Hamburger DOM

The Hamburger DOM is a folk festival held for one month each in spring, summer, and winter in the northern German city of Hamburg. Dating back to around the 11th century, it evolved from the tradition of markets held inside and outside Hamburg Cathedral before special occasions like Christmas. Today, it has grown into the largest and longest-running festival in northern Germany.

Alster Fountain

Die bei Bürgern und Besuchern gleichermaßen beliebte Alsterfontäne ging erstmals am 18. April 1987 in Betrieb. Dieses Hamburger Wahrzeichen ist jedes Jahr von März bis November täglich zwischen 9.00 und 24.00 Uhr in Betrieb. Die neue, regelbare Pumpe befördert mit einer Leistung von 85 kW (114 PS) maximal rund 170.000 Liter Wasser pro Stunde auf eine Höhe von bis zu 60 m. Durch die modernere Technik konnte der Stromverbrauch im Gegensatz zu den vorangegangenen Jahren um 15% auf etwa 360.000 kWh pro Saison gesenkt werden. Zusätzlich wird das technische Herz der Binnenalster zu 100% mit Ökostrom am Laufen gehalten. Die Betriebskosten werden durch Geld- und Sachspenden getragen.
